My aim is to help employers and university careers services to work together more effectively, supporting the transition of graduates from higher education into the world of work. By understanding the priorities and constraints that apply to teams on both sides of the graduate recruitment process I can help them to create meaningful, efficient, mutually beneficial engagements that help all three parties – students, universities and employers – to realise their vision of success.
My experience of leading the careers service at City has given me a new appreciation of employer engagement from both an institution’s and a student’s perspective. This view, combined with my experience at Logica and AGR, helps me suggest new ways for employers to engage on campus to find the graduate talent they wish to hire.
I understand the importance of credibility for careers services in the current Higher Education environment, and how employer contact can help to build that. This understanding, combined with my experience of campus recruitment at Logica, has helped me to develop ideas that will allow careers services to evolve to meet the challenges they face
